New York City Engagement Session | Lydia & Jimmy

We’re so excited to share some more images from Lydia and Jimmy’s amazing New York City engagement session!   Undeterred with the morning’s dreary storm-clouded radar, we picked up some insanely overpriced umbrellas:)and headed out to meet Lydia and Jimmy at Central Park.  After our crazy tasty lunch with them at the Boathouse, we headed outside for the shoot (luckily just as the rain had stopped)!  Not only had the rain cleared out the park for us, but it also gave the leaves and grass and buildings that beautiful dark and vivid coloring you can only get after a storm.  Simply put, it was magical.  We had so much fun strolling around the city with Lydia and Jimmy…a beautiful and sweet (and funny!) couple in a beautiful and sweet city.  We were in heaven!

After Central Park, we cabbed it over to Times Square (where Lydia and Jimmy became local celebrities thanks to us following them around with our cameras). On the steps in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.We were so excited to check out The High Line, a new “park” built on an elevated rail line on Manhattan’s West Side.  This park had extra meaning for Lydia and Jimmy, it’s where he proposed to her!! I totally love Lydia for nimbly maneuvering onto this walkway with her heels and dress (possibly over a small fence too:)), this is definitely one of my favorite shots from the day! Lydia is such a natural beauty, no one should look this amazing after a day of walking around New York city in drizzling rain and humidity. We found the exact bench Lydia sat in when Jimmy proposed to her…so of course, we had to take some photos there!  The burst of “super model” wind was perfectly timed too!THE bench…:)I had to finish off this post with one of my now all-time favorite images…not only do I love how Lydia and Jimmy are looking at each other and how Jon used the taxi door to frame them for the perfect New York City shot, I also love how utterly confused the cab driver was when we asked him to start the meter, pull over to the side, roll down his window and get out of the car.  Thank you, random nice cab driver for being such a great sport!  And thank you Lydia and Jimmy, for inviting us out for an incredibly awesome day!  You guys are so much fun and your wedding is going to be just as amazing!  Can’t wait!
